"Love. Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The key word is love. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for." ~Ray Bradbury

Forehead to forehead
Not only you do I see
But a view of me
Diamonds, pearls, draped
Like a veil The world beheld
As a bridegroom's kiss

My Poems and such
The Gift of You
Did the caterpillar see her future
As she wove her tight silken bed?
In her long, deep sleep
Could she envision the rainbow of
Metamorphosed flight?
When the shell cracked and
Fell to the shore;
Did the duckling foresee her
Regal reflection? Did
she trust
In the power of transformation?
As I embraced the little death
Of my former self
You held my hand and urged me
Through the frightful inner journey
Gold
conjured from the inconsequential.
What
alchemy is claimed?
A
bold investment in an uncertain future;
Certainly, it bears the magical force of transmutation.
A Little Bird Told Me
Today I found half of robin’s eggshell,
Still moist from its occupant.
My heart quaked at the astonishing blue.
Its mesmerizing hue compelled me
To madly search for the other half.
Digging and scratching and grumbling served no purpose,
The errant half was not to be found.
That color, that form, it must be made whole!
When I stopped my rustling,
A little bird voice played on my ear.
There was the true beauty, new life, a new beginning.
In my palm I crushed the shell
And blew the fragments into the wind.
"Gold conjured from the inconsequential..."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, that.
